    1. The newest Calf Number 4 nursed and did really well. We will go back tonight and let her nurse again, unless she got on the cow by herself and that is the best we could hope for. Calf Number 3 is weak but wants to eat. We milked her mama and tubed her with the milk. We will do the same tonight. Each day is a new challenge.

  2. And so begins the new cycle of life on the farm and crazy hours with hard work for the Cowboy and you!! I love that you do so much with all the animals. I'm glad Calf Number 4 did well with her nursing and hope you find that she got on the cow herself today. I hope that Calf Number 3 is able to nurse on mama soon...or you'll be getting another bottle baby! You didn't have one last year, but the bottle boys are certainly looking great! Will you use either of them on your cows or are they steers now? How about your goats...will they be giving you a bunch of kids soon?

    1. The bottle calves from 2 years ago are steers. They are pasture ornaments. I see them every day and they always make me laugh. I was at the cow barn tonight and the dairy bottle calf, Marv was babysitting Scarlett, Calf Number 2. Marv licks her and protects her, I guess he is her Uncle Marv.

Yes, we are expecting baby goats.....any day. They are here at our barn close to the house so I can keep an eye on them.

It is 7pm and we just walked in the door for the night.....time to make some dinner and settle in for the evening......more tomorrow.

      Good Night,
      LuAnn
