Tree Roots...

We pass by these tree roots every day

on our way to the Cow Barns...

Tree Roots

I notice them every time we pass by...

The roots are very smooth

from the cattle and the goats rubbing on them...

They are magnificent!

Just to give you some perspective as to the

size of these tree roots...

Here is a mama cow walking by the tree roots.

Here I am standing in the tree roots...

We continue to spend a lot of time tending

to the cattle

There are 31 calves on the ground so far...

we are half way through calving season.

I am attending a full week Quilting Retreat

@ the Quilt Palace this week....I am ready!

  4. I was going to say "Wow" but several people beat me to it. ha ha ha. Thanks for the scale pics, I really liked the roots, but the scale pic made them even more impressive. Are they "ART" inspiration for you?

  5. Yes, the trees roots are an inspiration! In the summer the goat herd takes shade under those trees and lay around, in and under the roots....it is quite a sight to see.

  6. Oh, you have to post pictures when the goats are shading themselves! That has to be a sight! (Plus, I love goats). Those roots are awesome!

  7. Between water erosion and the animals using the roots as a scratching post, they are wonderful!!! Calf 2 is growing well...what a cutie!! 31 calves so far and only one set of twins, right?? I'm having fun following this calving season with you!!
