Today I spent the day in the Thread Shed...
I emptied out cupboards...
I emptied out drawers...
Two cupboards were removed from the room...
One new cupboard was moved in...
I am busy sorting......
I am busy organizing...
I am creating a new working environment for myself...
It has been over 10 years since
I moved into the Thread Shed...
It's.......Time for a Change.

I loved the photos that accompanied your dialogue. Are you moving back to the house, or staying in the shed? Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Denise,
ReplyDeleteMy textile art is changing and I need to change the way I work in the Thread Shed as well. There are so many things I no longer use that need to find new homes. I have also gathered so many new items I use in my art quilts that need to be stored in the Thread Shed for easy access. I have a job ahead of me sorting and deciding what stays and what goes, but it will be well worth it in the end when I have a better working environment and everything is right at hand where I need it. I better get back out there and fill a few more boxes for the Goodwill Store. I will post images of the redesigned Thread Shed when it is done.
My Best To You,

I did mine "studio" reorgainzing last spring so I know what you are going through. I was amazed at how much stuff I had crammed into my space.
ReplyDeleteOn one wall I needed to move my cloth cabinets only 2". So what to do, empty them one at a time and reorg all the fabrics. It took me 3+ months before I was through, but I have been able to keep it up and it stillmakes me smile when I'm there.
Enjoy your process.
