Chintimini Wildlife Rehabilitation Center

Saturday we made our way over to the
Chintimini Wildlife Rehabilitation Center

As always, I never leave home without my camera:

Great Horned Owl

The light was beautiful cascading over his shoulder

Sparky
This Bald Eagle has no flight feathers.
He has become an education bird at this rehab center.

These birds are larger than life.
Their colors are amazing.

Barn Owl

How adorable is this little bird.

We eventually made our way over to the Racoons:

They were happy to see Heath
coming into their cage with a bowl of food for them...

It was also time for Heath to clean their cage:

This is Heath
He volunteers here and enjoys the animals.

Don't tell Heath...
But I think the Raccoons were laughing at him while he was cleaning house for them!

I am so inspired by the volunteer work at Chintimini and the care that is given to more than 700 animals that are treated there each year.

The animals have inspired me to create textile art from some of the images I was able to capture with my camera.

  1. Beautiful pictures! We had an educational/rehab area like that when I was in college, and I could have spent way too much time there.
