We have a a few more cow and calf pairs
rounded up...
They are on the road and heading
a few miles down river...
They like to eat the grass along the road side,
so we need to keep pushing them along...
The neighbor has a long horn steer in his field...
the steer is happy to see all of the cattle pass by

ReplyDelete60 Minutes, I think, had a segment on some ranchers that got together in the Spring for a 2 week drive to summer pastures. In the Fall the cattle straggled home by themselves. Are y'all that lucky? :)

DeleteNow that would be something wouldn't it! Our entire cattle herd is never together in one place. We keep them split up into 4 or more groups to help with pasture management. This creates more work moving them around, but it's something that needs to be done to keep everybody in grass.
