Someone I know needs a quilt
for their baby dolly...
I found a hunk of flannel and spray basted
it together with some cotton batting
& flannel backing:
3 bobbins later, it is done!
This was so much FUN...
I got my free motion quilting fix !
The flannel gives lots of definition
to the stitching...
Now to trim off the edges
and stitch on a binding...
No need for a hand made binding,
this ready made bias tape will do the job...
Back and front sides...
All ready to wrap up a baby doll !
We have a new rooster...
He is magnificent !

Love the colors...and this will be such a soft quilt...and the more it's washed the more it will be so, so soft! Rooster is cool!!!

DeleteWe have been without a rooster for over a year now...it was wonderful to wake up to his crowing this morning. He is a great guy and the hens are really happy to have him here.

Love the quilting on that baby quilt!! How do you put on the bias tape and how do you get your corners to look so beautiful using the machine?? Love the new rooster too - what's his name??

DeleteWhen you take the bias tape out of the package, upon close inspection you will notice that one side of the fold is longer than the other. The short of the two sides goes on top of the quilt, which means the bottom side is a bit longer and when you stitch it down, the threads will easily catch on the back side of the quilt. I just fold the corners on the bias and match everything up, pin it down, then stitch over it. With a little practice, it comes out pretty good.
