This is Fabulous Finish...Number 2
This is 4th in a series of Barn Lot Quilts
that I was working on in 2019...
These are all personal images taken by me
and transferred to cotton fabric:
We have lots of rusty stuff in the barn lot
that I used to rust the background fabrics...
It was great FUN to quilt circles and curves
all over the quilt...
Commercial cottons make up the pieced borders
I hand dyed the backing fabric...
The binding is also hand dyed:
The binding has been rolled up on a piece of
cardboard since 2019...
Binding is on...
the 4th Barn Lot Quilt is DONE !
As you can see from this image...
the 5th Barn Lot Quilt is waiting to be finished.
The Baby Elk Calf is still here:
He lives in the pasture with the cattle...
As you can see, he stands in line with
all of the cows waiting for his breakfast...
Not sure how long he will stick around,
but it is FUN to see him every morning
when we feed.

I remember when you were making the rust fabrics. They turned out great and were the perfect background for your images. Love the very intelligent baby elk!
ReplyDeleteOh, that baby elk calf is super cute! He has become one of the herd. The cows don't mind him hanging out with them. He is usually sound asleep in the middle of the herd, while they are grazing around him.

Love everything about this quilt....your rust fabric is fabulous, pics great and your quilting, as always, is so unique and fits so well. Love that Elk Calf!!!! So sweet he has a family again!!! HA

I remember seeing your first barn quilts. I am glad you are doing more. They have inspired me to make a quilt for my son. He has had a paint and body shop for several years and pictures of the cars and the tools in the shop will make a great quilt.
ReplyDeleteI do have to say that the baby elk is pretty smart. He found a place that would feed and water him every day. Why roam around looking for food when it will come to you? I have a feeling he might just grow old there with you guys! LOL
