Cow feeding time
Cow and calf pairs gather at the bale feeder
to get a bite of hay
This was our first year freeze branding:
Spring calves with their new freeze brands...
The freezing kills the pigment in the hair...
then the hair grows back white
Bottle Calf Update:
The babies are 2 1/2 years of age

They run with the main cow herd year round.
They still respond to my voice
when I call them by name.

ReplyDeleteLove seeing your cows and babies!! Your bottle babies are all grown up!! I loved seeing the videos of them when they were babies - too cute. I like the freeze-brand - is the color change permanent? What would you do with an all-white baby? Hard to believe we are diving into autumn and we haven't had a single day that 100 or warmer!
