It's that time of the year....
Time to fire up the tractor and...
drag mole hills !
I am in the hay field with the bulls today...
they are good company !
Knocking the mole hills down helps to keep
our hay cleaner...
we will be mowing hay in June.
Enjoy the videos of my day on the tractor:
Hey LuAnn,
ReplyDeletePlease explain. Don't they just come back? 'Specially if you don't mow til June. I swear hundreds of them pop up overnight!

Yes, they do come back, but we are flattening out the last 10 months of mole hills....and that's a lot of dirt that would have been in our hay for the cows to eat. Good Question!

We get badger holes in our hay fields...ugh! I hate it when my horse hits one, but he hasn't been hurt and I haven't gone off, so I guess we are good! I think I remember you saying that one of the tags you put in the cow's ears was for flies...why don't the bulls get the same tags? Too bad Cowboy couldn't direct you while videoing you going through that gate! Ferdinand is such a pretty boy and he does throw such pretty calves!!
ReplyDeleteAll of the cattle, cows, calves and bulls get fly tags. We will be working the cattle in the next couple of weeks and everybody gets new tags for the summer months. We remove them in the fall.
