The elk usually come down from the timber
in the evening...
then eat all night long in the hay fields...
today, they came down in the morning
and spent the entire day browsing...
This is the view out our living room window...
they are really something to see!
Their calves will be born late Spring.

Wow, you have a lovely looking herd of elk there!! The deer love to come and feed in the hay fields at home as well. Occasionally hubby will put a game camera out by a stack and catch them feeding at night. It is weird that they spent the day browsing in your field. The deer do that occasionally, but usually they wait for the cover of darkness.
ReplyDeleteThere is a herd of elk near my daughter's house. I love watching them. It's sad that so many up here in Washington are suffering with hoof disease. I hope it doesn't come near you.
