Playing with Pears...

The Art Sisters gathered together

to play with PEARS...

Here is how our day went:

Playing with the fossil fern fabrics......always FUN!

Nancy prepared the pattern

Nancy's pear samples........for inspiration!

Plastic cartoon sheet......to help with fabric placement

The center fabric has little contrast...

Virginia is trying a darker fabric in the center of the pear...

The darker fabric works for this pear

We are using Fixion pens to trace on pre-fused fabrics

The Frixion pen lines disappear

when the pear is fused with the iron

The finished pear composition

is mounted on stretched canvas frames

Light and Dark backgrounds both work nicely.

Nothing left to do but clean up the mess!

We are offering this as a Permission 2 Play Class

  1. What a fun idea especially when you work with your friends. I've used that plastic to draw possible quilting designs but never thought of it as a layout tool for fabric pieces. I must remember this.
