Fantasy Fish.....Borders

Let's get some sort of border treatment

on the Fantasy Fish...

The roll of Steam A Seam is still on the Big Board...

Let's fuse some border fabrics!

Slice the fabrics into triangles...

Triangle shapes on the edge of the fish quilt...

I like this......I will keep going with it.

They are wonky triangles...

Free-hand cut triangles.....placed at wonky angles.

They give a sense of playfulness to the fish.

Let's give Red Fish some borders:

Choose border fabrics...

Cut the border fabrics into 3 inch strips:

Place the strips on the fusible

or sticky side of the Steam A Seam Lite 2

Press or iron the strips onto the fusible web...

Cut the fused strips apart...

Layer the strips and free hand cut them into triangles...

Place the triangles on the edges...

Peel the release paper off the back of the triangles...

Iron the triangles onto the quilt top...

Trim off the rough edges and square up the quilt...

Red Fish is ready for a binding treatment.

Orange and Pink Fish

Green and Purple Fish

Blue Fish

I plan to do a bit more top stitching...

then get fast fused bindings on these fish.

More to come...

  3. I thought they were going to be a quilt. Are they separate items? Like many small art quilts?

I love them. They are so dynamic and colorful.
