Eclectic Hexy Quilt......Progress 3

Progress Report...

Eclectic Hexy Quilt Top

This is the quilt top in April...

It has tripled in size over the last month...

I am having so much FUN with the

Eclectic Fabric Line...

I am adding half hexagons:

at the top and bottom edges...

This will give the quilt a straight edge treatment...

On the sides I will need to add triangles

to create a straight edge...

I am planning to use the red stripe fabric

for the final border treatment.

I am nearly done with this take-a-long quilt

and I am missing it already.

Guess I better plan my next take-a-long project!

I have been busy planting seeds:

Filling up the little greenhouse in the back yard...

We don't have a very long growing season here in

Western Oregon...

These seeds will be ready to plant in the ground

by the first of June.

Freckles the Cow Mama turns 32 this year!

She is currently babysitting 50 head of yearling cattle

just outside our yard fence.

  1. I have just recently tried EPP and I'm hooked! I love your large hexi's! I noticed the glue sticks in your green case. Do you use them instead of basting the fabric to the paper? Is is difficult to get the paper out after they've been glued? Did you buy the papers or make them? I'd love to make a bigger quilt after I finish my first table topper and am so intrigued with your quilt! Thanks!

  2. Yes, I use the glue stix to baste the fabric to the hexy papers. No, it is not difficult to remove the papers at all, they peel right off of the fabric. I use washable glue stix, so the glue washes right out when the quilt is laundered. The glue tends to stick to the paper and not to the fabric when removed. I purchased my papers. Good Luck with your piecing,

  3. LOVE the hexies! I've been thinking about starting another-just finishing up 2 now-and just using a scrap bag. They are so much fun.

Love the little green house. Is this the first year using it?

  4. I am in love with this quilt! This is one of my favorite lines! Thank you for sharing!!! Just how big ARE those hexies? I love the way they showcase the fabric.
