Neocolor II Portrait.......Iris...Metallic Thread

Last week I completed the quilting on this

Neocolor II Iris Portrait

I lived with it for a few days and it just looked dull...

I recently purchased some
Madeira SuperTwist Metallic Thread...

The SuperTwist just makes this flower twinkle!

Now.....the Quilting is Done.

  2. Hi Leeanne,
There are several tips for using Metallic Threads:
    Topstitch 90 or 100 Needle
They have a very large eye and less friction as the metallic thread runs through the eye of the needle.
Slow down.......really force yourself to go nice and slow.
    Use good quality metallic threads.
I like Madeira SuperTwist Metallics, they are very fine.
Use a lightweight poly thread in the bobbin, like Bottom Line. It does not grab the metallic thread.
