Time to do some sketching

A flower design might work...

I am tracing out the flower shapes onto Fusible Web
Steam A Seam Lite 2

Tracing is done...

Time to audition flower fabrics...

A few more fabrics that might work...

I had a tough time finding fabrics in my stash that would match the color values in this quilt top...I feel my fabrics somewhat limit me at this point.

Fusible Web Applique Shapes Cut Out and Ready to Fuse onto Fabrics

The first flower will be blue and scrappy...

The blue plaid fabrics coordinate nicely with the background

Pink Flower has been started...

Another layer of petals has been added...

Blue Flower is done...

Pink Flower is done...

Auditioning Stem Fabrics...

This green goes nicely with the rest of the fabrics.
I will use it for the flower stems...

The stems are drawn free-hand.
I placed fusible web on the quilt, then drew the stems where they needed to be.

Again, drawing on the fusible web for the stem design needed.
There is no pattern, I am designing as I go...

Time to add some leaves...

With these large applique shapes, I was able to cut most everything free hand with the rotary cutter.
It is much faster and easier than using scissors.

A few leaves have been added...

Applique Work is complete...
The only thing left to do is fuse it all down with the iron!

Oh Yes, there is one other thing...

Clean up the Mess !

The stitch work begins tomorrow...

More to come ~

Yes, the basic quilt top is sweet, but it needed something with a strong visual image.....to make you walk across the room.....for a closer look......and then purchase raffle tickets!
