Rebuilding a Blanky...

He Still Loves it....

Peyton with his Blanky

My niece came over with her son's blanky.......very much in need of some tender loving care. This 30 year old quilt, that belonged to her husband as a baby, was now being loved by their son, Peyton.

The 30 year old fabrics were quite faded, and many of them in shreds with the batting exposed and no binding in sight...........it was very well loved.

Time for: OPERATION REBUILD BLANKY.

My niece found the very same vintage fabric online and within a few days it arrived in her mailbox.......this alone is incredible......don't ya think?

Along with some new flannel backing and a new satin binding.......we rebuilt the blanky.......tucking the old blanky inside for the batting layer.

I waited on pins and needles to hear whether or not Peyton would accept his rebuilt blanky or reject it....

An email arrived with the image of 3 year old Peyton smiling & holding his blanky.......the caption read:
He Still Loves it!

Now this is what quilting is all about!
