  8. Warm hugs to all of you who have joined me on this journey. You picked me up when I was at my lowest point and let me know that I was never alone. With your caring and kind words you supported me to see this quilt through to the end. Please know that your voices will continue linger in my thoughts....

  11. LuAnn, I saw you'd finished the Cow Pony Quilt on Inkjet Transfer Group & decided to come over for a looksee... I have been amazed and touched by Dancer's photo and the quilting. Fantastic.
Thanks so much for sharing the stages you went through in the making of the quilt - I was fascinated. My favourite part were the horseshoes and the weaving! Hats off to you - you rock!

  12. LuAnn- I was fortunate enough to stumble across your site and would like to tell you how amazing your quilt is. Without knowing anything about you or Dancer, I knew immediately it was a tribute to a beautiful lost friend- you communicated that through your art. It is amazing how deeply we can love our animals and they are an amazing gift.
    Thanks for sharing,
    Kay

  13. LuAnn, Dancer's quilt is so beautiful - your thread painting gives such dimension - I'm so happy you were able to complete the quilt and that you're feeling so much better. His death will always be a loss, but I agree with Martha - what a wonderful life he had with you and you with him! Take care, Suzette

  16. Hello Everybody!
I am here......I went through a big cleaning & reorganizing out in the thread shed! I pulled everything out, piled it in the middle of the room, and decided what would stay and what would go! It feels good to have a fresh start for 2010.
I am taking photographs today of some new pieces I just put the bindings on this morning. I will post this evening when I come back in the house.
    Bye For Now,
    LuAnn

I'm curious do you only free motion quilt or do you ever use quilting stencils?

  18. Hello Anonynous,
15 years ago when I became interested in machine quilting I used stencils. They were a good jumping off point for a newbie machine quilter. They helped me to gain confidence and build my skills. I felt more in control when I had the stencil marked lines to follow. After a few years I became tired of all the hours of tracing the stencils.....the marking became too much labor for me. This is when I knew I was ready to take the leap into free motion work. I rarely use stencils now, but I am thankful I had them at the beginning of my machine quilting journey.
