Acorn Candle Mats...

Acorn Candle Mats

This is an acorn coaster pattern...

I enlarged it and changed the shape a bit...

I pulled these homespun fabrics

from the cupboard...

Before too long I had an

acorn candle mat completed...

I had a great deal of fun using these

homespun fabrics...

Trying out different color combinations...

It was hard to stop...

I just had to keep cutting them out

and stitching them together.

I rounded up a few candles

to try them on for size...

Acorn Candle Mats...

Great for gift giving this autumn.

Pumpkin Candle Mats...

Another FUN pattern from

Fig Tree & Co.

Pumpkin Candle Mats

I am using 5 inch Charm Squares...

Beautiful autumn fabrics...

These were a lot of FUN to play with...

I machine quilted a grid across the

top side of the pumpkins...

Before long, your table is full of

Pumpkins

They are the perfect size to use as

Candle Mats or Coasters

Acorn Garland...

This is a very FUN and FREE pattern from

Fig Tree & Company

Acorn Garland & Coasters

I am using 5 inch charm squares...

The charm squares are cut in half and
pieced into fronts or top sides for the acorns...

One charm pack made 16 acorns...

You trace the acorn shape onto freezer paper

then iron the freezer paper to your fabric

and trace around the shape...

If I were to make these again,
I would only put one small square
of fabric for the bottom of the acorn...

I was having so much FUN making these

that I forgot to take any more photos

until I was all done...

Here is the completed Acorn Garland

I machine quilted a grid across the acorns...

I top stitched all the way around the edge...

I made two garlands,

each with 8 acorns...

One to keep and one to give away!

Medallion Star Quilt...Progress

Last week I managed to finish all

36 of the border blocks

Today I am putting all of the quilt blocks

up on the design wall together

for the very first time...

A few of the star blocks are up...

Here is the start of the center of the quilt...

The Star Medallion block is in place...

More small star blocks and

the center is almost filled in...

9 rows up on the design wall...

The quilt is too big for the wall

so the 10th and final row doesn't fit.

This is the pattern book I am working from...

I was able to get 6 rows stitched together today.

This is my Wednesday quilt project

so there will be more progress next week.

Medallion Star Quilt....Border

I am still pecking away at this quilt...

I forgot to take an updated photo,

but all 40 star blocks have been completed.

I am now assembling all of the

border blocks:

I do love assembly line stitching...

All of the little 4 patch blocks are done...

I am now assembling the 9 patch blocks

with the 4 patch blocks...

9 Patch Border Block...

The little light gray squares create a design

all around the edge of the quilt...

This image from the pattern shows

how the border blocks are arranged...

I need 36 nine patch border blocks...

This is the queen size quilt design

that I am following.

I hope to complete the last 10 border blocks

this week so I can begin piecing the quilt top

next week.

This is a Christmas gift so I need to get it in gear !

Autumn Leaves Table Runner...

I spent yesterday machine quilting the

Autumn Leaves Table Runner...

Always FUN to get a project

under the needle...

machine quilting swirls...

leaves swirling in the wind

I used a gold thread and it blended nicely

with the leaves and the background...

I had lots of the green fabric, used for the

leaf stems, so made a binding with it...

I pawed through my fabric cupboards

and found this leaf fabric for backing.

I have 3 more runners ready to baste and

go under the needle.
