Farm Panel...

I pulled a Farm Panel

out of the cupboard

and put it up on the design wall...

I love the colors

and I am ready to to begin working on this...

How great is this wagon wheel fabric !

I am hoping to use this as a border treatment...

These are the fabrics I have pulled

to work with this panel...

I have chosen 2 blocks from this book...

Churn Dash aka Hole in the Barn Door

Shoo Fly

My work table is set up and I am ready

to get right with it...

Shoo Fly block cut out and ready to stitch...

The Bloc-Loc Rulers

are the best way to trim up the bias square units

6 inch blocks...

I snagged one of the jean bins I made last week

and it works great to keep the remotes and phone

up off the work table...

when they get covered with fabric,

I can't locate them !

It is time to throw a few blocks

up on the design wall and see how

they shake out:

It is coming together nicely.

This sweet girl came over today

and spent some time down at the river:

She caught some trout for her dinner !

Spring has finally arrived here in Western Oregon

and we are loving it !

Denim Jean Bins...

I am stitching up the last of the denim jean

scraps I have been saving for way too long...

Denim Jean Bins...

I am also using up scrap fabrics

for the linings...

I have the bin factory all set up...

The denim is cut into squares,

The fusible foam is pressed onto the denim,

The lining squares are cut to size...

I am ready for a full day of stitching !

Just love these fabrics with a 70's vibe !

The Jean Bins are piling up...

I am attending a Quilt Retreat

next month...

I will bring these along as

Welcome Gifts for the quilters !

Calves...

 Elsa the Frozen Calf...

loves to make new friends!

After spending the first 2 days of her life

with the Cowboy and I thawing her out...

she has become unusually friendly for a calf.

This is our red barn here at our home place...

we feed the yearling cattle here

(last year's calves, now a year old)

The golden yearling in the center

is Golden Girls calf from last year,

we call her Golden Delicious...

This is Eleanor...she is a yearling.

I absolutely adore her !

This is Buttercup....a yearling

Yes, I adore every inch of her !

Each morning we feed the yearlings...

I drive, the Cowboy feeds off the back:

This is my view from the

side view mirror...

yearling cattle following the hay wagon

This is my view out the

rear view window...

The Cowboy and the yearling cattle

If you look close in the center of the image...

there is Eleanor with a big mouthful of hay !

The chores are all done...

I am ready to head out to the Thread Shed

for an afternoon of stitching.

Apple Core Quilt....DONE !

I began piecing this apple core quilt top

in Jackson, Wyoming in 2009...

I stopped at a quilt shop in Jackson,

purchased the template and fabrics

and began cutting out apple core shapes...

I spent the next year stitching on the GO !

with the applecore quilt

as my take-a-long piecing project...

Hand Piecing while traveling

is so relaxing and rewarding...

I spent the last week putting the finishing touches

on the Apple Core Quilt...

Here it is on our bed.....DONE !

I had FUN incorporating a few Kaffee Fassett

fabrics into this quilt...

The binding and label are all DONE !

All those curves make me happy !

It is wonderful to finally see this completed

and on our bed !

Spring has finally arrived in Western Oregon

Tulips are in full bloom...

The chickens are busy eating all the

insects and slugs in the flower beds...

They also make beautiful yard ornaments...

This view is just outside the front door:

I don't have far to go to get to the

yellow Thread Shed

where I do most of my stitching!
