Denim Jean Fabric Bins......Yes, More

I found some yellow plaid fabric

in the cupboard...

It made a perfect lining for the

last 2 denim jean fabric bins...

This red button is an old lucite button

with a metal trim around the edge.

I have had it for years and it has finally

found a home on this bin...

This red wooden heart button was a gift

and it is perfect on this bin...

I am leading a class on Monday

to create these little fabric bins...

More to Come !

Denim Jeans Fabric Bins......More

These little fabric bins are like potato chips...

I just gotta make more !

They make me happy...

This is the first one embellished with a button.

I trimmed off the waist band of the jeans,
the end with the button hole,
and stitched it to the front and added
a red button.

This is the first one with rick rack...

Red goes so great on denim.

I could not resist adding mini pom poms...

Okay, the fun is over for today.

Now, go make one....you know you want to !

p.s. These are off the top of my head, I don't have a pattern. I found a YouTube video that is similar to the way I make my bins....I add fusible batting to the lining fabric for stability.

Denim Jean Fabric Bins...

How FUN are these ?

Fabric Bins

Made from worn out denim jeans...

The label off the inside of the waist band
embellishes the front of the fabric bin...

These are super FUN to stitch together...

Metal buttons off the button up fly...

One pair of old jeans
turns into 6 or 8 fabric bins:

You leave the pant leg seams intact,
start at the bottom of the pants
and cut off 9 inches for a bin.

I enjoyed pairing up pretty lining fabrics...

Also enjoyable cutting off buttons and tags
to embellish each bin...

All the bins are lined with fabric...

The bins get larger as you cut
higher up on the pant legs...

They pile up.....fast !

Get out your old jeans

and stitch up some FUN !

p.s.  I have been getting requests for a pattern to make these fabric bins.  I don't have one, just came off the top of my head.

I searched on YouTube and there is a tutorial similar to the way I made mine. I cut fusible batting the same size as the lining fabric and fused it to the lining to make a sturdy bin.  I cut squares out of the corners, the tutorial uses the triangle method to create a flat bottom.
