Art Cloth Round Robin......Round 4

I have been part of an
Art Cloth Surface Design Round Robin
for the last few months.

I haven't been able to share much with you since we only reveal each round once a month...

I don't want to spoil the BIG REVEAL now do I

Well, we had our last Round 4 REVEAL today
so I can show you what I have been up to.

September 2010

Nancy's Art Cloth
Round 1
Sun Printing w/Setacolor Textile paints

October 2010

Virginia added bubble wrap stamping with yellow textile paint
Round 2

November 2010

Kathi added stamping with a homemade cardboard stamp
Round 3

December 2010

This is where I come in.....Round 4
You can see that I have stamped circles of all sizes all over the Nancy's cloth.
But.....I couldn't stop there!

I mixed up a batch of flour paste resist:

I guess you could call this.....Round 4B

Flour Paste......needs to dry overnight

The next morning it is almost dry enough to crack the flour...

After it is cracked...
I applied textile paints on top of the flour

I just love the look of the piece at this painted stage

Back side.....
I flipped it over to the back side to see how much of the paint seeped through the cracks.

Now.....we wait for the paint to dry & cure.

Then the fabric is soaked until the flour can be rinsed away.

Here is the completed piece dried and pressed:

Nancy's Round Robin Art Cloth
Completed

You are looking through the layers of 5 different surface design techniques.

Art Cloth......it's a fun thing!

When I have photographed all of the completed pieces, I will post a slideshow so you can follow the evolution of each individual piece.
