Soy Wax Batik…..Permission 2 Play Class

Demonstrating which tools were used on the fabric samples:



Metal Spring created the circles







Paint Brush created the stripes







Metal Food Chopper created the lines







Napkin Ring created the squares and circles

Demo:  Painting over the Waxed Fabric:


Spray water to wet fabric…..slightly







We are using Setacolor Paints

Dilute 1 part paint to 4 parts water…

No fabrics were safe from the hot wax women!

The waxed areas resist the paint







Setting up a fan to help dry the painted fabrics…














When dry, the fabrics are heat set with an iron,

then washed in a HOT washing machine to remove wax.
