These wax pastel crayons by Caran d'Ache work beautifully on fabric. Students may choose either solid light colored fabric or a print with a light background. We'll color on the fabric with texture/rubbing plates placed under the fabric, then add water to allow the colors to blend. There will be time in class to color several pieces in the morning. Once dry, after lunch, student will have fun creating a quilted piece such as a table runner or wall quilt from one or more of their colorful new fabrics.

ReplyDeleteIf you haven't already, search out a quilt guild in your area and join up. Then make friends with the artsy quilters in the bunch, you know the fearless ones that want to try out every new technique they can, or even invent a few methods of their own. Then the artsy group and start a little group on the side and have play days and try out all sorts of great things......like playing with the Neocolor II crayons.
We are all a bit braver when we try things together as a group.
