Thanksgiving Greetings...

Happy Thanksgiving

The Harlan Bird Boy
Heath 1993

Our son at age 8 years
He hand raised turkeys, ducks, geese & chickens.
For Christmas one year he was thrilled to receive an incubator.
It was not uncommon to walk into his room and see baby ducks hatching on his desk.
One time we caught him in the bathtub, with baby ducklings swimming around him.

Today we are thankful for the privilege of raising our two sons.

Wishing you a day filled with gratitude...

p.s. Heath is now 25 years of age, is finishing up his last year of schooling and volunteers part time at a local wild life rescue clinic. His favorite animals at the clinic are the eagles.

  1. That is so sweet, hugging the turkey. He must be really good to them to have them trust enough to be embraced like that.
How does he react when its time to eat turkey??

  2. We never ate any of our birds.
They lived very long lives here on the farm with us.
The vet called our place "an old folks home" because our animals lived out their natural life here......lots of old animals to care for.
